June 6, 1963 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

June 6, 1963
Thursday, nice day.  I painted the stair and hall floor and varnished around rugs.  Didn’t go to prayer meeting.  Louise was here a minute at night.
Comment:  Louise was Grandpa Elmer's wife.  Mom's still in rehab mode with no mention of the migraines but not going to prayer meeting might be an indication of how she felt.  No mention of D Day.  Upon reflection, even thought the place was very isolated, it seems they had some sort of visitors just about every day.....Here is how the view from a living room window might have looked on a "nice" June day....

Hi - I am really glad to find this. Good job!

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
