June 1, 1963 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

June 1, 1963
Saturday, beautiful sunny day, 75.  We made garden and finished little bedroom.  Gerald and Mary Ann were here for supper.  Bunny was here in the evening.   Clifton, the girls and I went to South Jefferson at night to film “Centerville Awakening”.
Comment:  There is no information on "Centerville Awakening" other than it was a Christian film. Mary Ann and I get a free meal, probably stayed in Gloversville that night.  Here  is picture of the place in late spring.
The view of the house from the bottom picture is from the garden area. What I remember most about the garden is picking and eating the peas and beans fresh off the vine.  I would also pull radishes, and after wiping the dirt off on my pants, eating those, remaing dirt and all....

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
