Cloudy, very windy and cold. Highest all day was ten below.  Myrtie said it was 14 below up there and over to Earl's was 24 below zero.  Clifton and the boys took a small load of wood over to Grandpa's and Louise's.  Boys went out at night all but Wayne.  Gerald stayed at Mary Ann's all night.
Comment:  Dangerously cold....but not as dangerous as in Boston where 
  • The body of 23-year-old Patricia Bissette was found in her apartment. She was the seventh victim of Albert DeSalvo, the "Boston Strangler". DeSalvo would later confess that he had gotten the name of Bissette's roommate from the mailbox and had posed as the roommate's friend to gain entry.[73]
