Thursday, June 25, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

June 25, 1964
Thursday, cool and partly cloudy, 45 - 58.  Rode with Madelyn to DVBS.  Went to prayer meetings at night.  Three Reynolds and Liz Warner candidates for baptism.
Comment: Baptism will be full immersion for the candidates. I was baptized in Halleck's pond when I was about eight years old and remember it well....I also remember a baptism tank underneath the stage of the church where the podium stood, wonder if it's still there.....see Sister Sue's comment below

From Susan: The “tank” is still there. It was hammered shut way before my baptism, in the Hallock creek, next to the barn, when I was 8 years of age – so that would have been 1960. But since that time, one of the previous pastors discovered it in the late 80’s, and they started using it again. :) Susan

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
