Friday, March 20, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

March 20, 1964
Friday, beautiful day, 80.  I washed in am.  Sue still home with cold.  Richard Lewis here for dinner.  Took horse and cows to Escondido but didn't sell them.  We went to Carousel at night.
Comment: Not sure, but think this Richard Lewis used to be our neighbor when we lived in Gilboa. Richard was my scoutmaster, drinking companion, and baseball coach....this is the house that we used to live in Gilboa...sitting on the stump is Marilyn holding Wayne. Doug and David are crouched to the left of the stump. Doug was 6, David was 4, Wayne was 2, Marilyn was 12. I was ten at the time......

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
