Monday, 9 April, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Monday, 9 April 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Sunny in am, cloudy and rain in pm.  Clifton went to court.  The federal income tax came $373.87. Sue home from school again.  Ethridge got 50 bales and paid $78.  We owed him$12.21 for log drawing.
Comment:  That money in today's terms:  $3182.00,  $664.00 and $103.90, not chump change...interesting that they use the idioms "log drawing" and "hay drawing" ......

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
