Saturday, February 29, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaires

February 29, 1964
Saturday, still cloudy, rainy 50's, clearing in afternoon.  Clifton had cold in his head.  Girls went down street in afternoon.  Marilyn, Jim and kids here for supper.  Marilyn had to work from 10 pm to 6 am.   Had a letter from Roberta saying Angie Briggs died Friday night.
Uncle Merel's And Aunt Ella's, Flat Creek, NY 2011
Comment:  Marilyn working the graveyard shift, and it was a Leap Year in 1964, how convenient....Angie Briggs was Aunt Ella's mother and so it was a sad time for her I'm sure.  Here is LaVerne's comment:  "Angie Briggs was Ella's' mother, father Will. Ever
hear the expression "Daddy Will?"...and I do remember Daddy Will, but vaguely.  Our
generation was not that close to the Briggs side of Aunt Ella's family.  Here is Uncle Merel's and Aunt Ella's place as it was last September....

From Marilyn: Sad to see all those places vacant. Beautiful picture. Thanks Gerald. We had some snow here that was fun.

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
