Monday, February 24, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaires

February 24, 1964
Monday, sunny 70's, becoming partly cloudy in late afternoon.  I did a big wash.  Went to Marilyn's in am a few minutes.  David had a cold in his head.  Carol had a package from the 8th grade at Gilboa.  Box of chocolate and bracelet.  Marilyn and kids here a few minutes at night.
Comment: Nice that Carol's classmates sent her a package.

Here is the complete Wickipedia article on the Gilboa School: The Gilboa-Conesville Central School District is a small, rural school located in the Northern Catskill Mountains. There are about 375 students in grades K12 housed in one building in Gilboa, Schoharie County New York.
There are no villages nor towns within the school district. The town
of Prattsville has the only village atmosphere in the district. Because no students live within walking distance of the school, almost all take the school bus to school.

Here is a picture of the school and why the school motto is "Best School By A Dam Site".  When the school was built in 1927, it had a view of the reservoir.  Here is the Wiki article about the dam:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schoharie_Reservoir

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
