Friday, 1 June, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Friday, 1 June, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
A very dry month.  Cool, partly cloudy.  We set out rose bush, glads, etc.  Clifton, girls and I went down to LaVerne and Roberta's at night.
Comment:  Another little more fierce Hubbard coat of arms.....the motto is variously translated from Latin as "Neither Fear Nor Spurn", "Neither Fear Nor Despise", and Neither Fear Nor Scorn......hmmmmm.....the previous coat of arms with the swans or geese said "Alta Petens" meaning "Seeking Things Above" or "Aiming High" in the vernacular.....

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
