Saturday July 17, 1965 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Saturday July 17, 1965
Hot and humid with thunder showers in the pm and at nite.  Clifton, girls and I went to Nickerson's for the girls to sing.  Stopped at LaVerne's and brought John home with us while Roberta went to Albany with LaVerne.  Wayne came home too.  David went to Doc Tepfer for sore throat.  Clifton built yard for pigs.
Comment:  Didn't say much about the singing....The pig yard probably looked a lot like the tin roofing enclosure in this picture on the left.  This is Dad working on the 1936 Packard we had.  He was probably changing head or oil pan gaskets and maybe doing a ring job.  We always had oil burning problems with that car.

Doc Tepfer was  the go-to Doc on the hill.  He had an office in Grand Gorge which was quite convenient...I mention him in "The Ballad Of  Patty Russell".....take a listen to a childhood tragedy.....click the link below...

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
