Saturday, April 17, 1965 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

April 17, 1965
Saturday, cold and cloudy and windy, 25 in am.  Clifton,  the girls, and I went to Cobleskill shopping; got girls' shoes and pocketbooks.  Stopped at Connor's and saw Gerald and Mary Ann's furniture.  They, LaVerne's and Earl and David were here for supper.  Gerald and Mary Ann went back to Gloversville at night.  Earl stayed all night snowed about 2 inches at night.
Comment:  Another big supper on the hill.   I remember buying that furniture, French Provincial chair, couch, and end tables that we kept for a very long time.  Not long after our purchase, the man who owned the Connor store fell of a boat dock and drowned, not sure where it was.   Here is a picture of the furniture we bought.  This is Voorheesville about 1971 or so....Craig and David....we still have the end tables in our house in Portland 58 years later....

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
