Monday, 12 December, 1966, The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Monday, 12 December, 1966, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Sunny, cold, 20's.  I wrote some Christmas cards, finished Carol's dress.  Carol and I took Doug to Kingston at 530 am.  Linda K brought over a dress to have hemmed in the evening.  Had letter from Marilyn telling about the bad flood in the Kern River Valley on December 5th.  So thankful Jim was safe.  Papa and Billy here in afternoon.
Comment:  The Kern River flood must have been a doozy.....and here's Merle Haggard singing about the river:

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
