Friday, December 18, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaries

December 18, 1964
Friday, cold and snow and windy.  Clifton, Madelyn and I went to Oneonta Christmas shopping.  Met Mrs. Mayo and Marion at book store, home at 5:20 pm.  David and Robert went to Kingston after Doug back at 8:30 pm.  Frank Leroy was killed when he fell off tractor.
Comment: Frank was a neighbor whose farm and lights we could see from our front porch and was one of the 500 or so farmers per year who get killed using a tractor.....If I remember correctly the Leroys always used Case tractors......I think he fell off and was ran over by the tractor or the equipment it was pulling....

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
