Wednesday, 26 September, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Wednesday, 26 September, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Partly cloudy.  I ironed and did most of the mending.  Went to prayer meeting at night.  Finished church drapes.  Roger Butler electrocuted
.
Comment:  Does anybody do "mending" anymore??...I don't remember Roger Butler but he is buried in the Breakabeen Cemetery:  The record reads, "Butler, Roger, Section II, Lot 50, Grave 1.  Born 1939, died 1962.  He lived in Fulton, Schoharie county, New York.  He was 23 years old.  I can find on the internet no further records of his life....

From Ruth Haskins: Roger was married to Marianne Bozzi. Not sure that is the correct spelling of her last name. They had a son, Roger Jr. Not sure if there were anymore children by Roger or not. After Roger died, Marianne married Rogers' brother. I believe his name was Chuck.

From LaVerne: Roger Butler lived on Rt 30 at the intersection of West Fulton road. Wind storm caused a tree limb to fall taking down the power line on his yard. He tried to move the line and was electrocuted.

My husband Jim knew Roger and said his wedding band was the catalyst for the electrocution. He went to swat the tree away from the electric wires.

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
