Friday, 9 February, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries

Friday, 9 February, 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Cloudy, 18 degrees.  I wrote to Doug, washed, Clifton went to Middleburgh after part for chain saw.  We went to ball game at night.  Gerald came home.  Snow in pm at night.
Comment:  Our equipment broke down a lot it seems and as kids and teenagers, the breakdown was a welcome break from the work and sometime involved a trip after parts to Middleburgh or Cobleskill or even Schenectady or Albany.  I remember vying for the chance to take a cool ride in the summer or a warm one
in the winter.  Ahhh, the small pleasures.....

You're always young in your mind it is said, No matter the face in the mirror, That you see with surprise then say to yourself, "What is that old man doing here?"
