Tuesday, September 21, 1965
Hot, humid, sunny, 80's.  I finished relish in am and picked three bushels of corn and put it in the freezer.  Wrote to Gerald and Mary Ann.  Bea Huper here in am for me to join "Home Demonstration".
Comment:  "Home Demonstration" was a federal and state agricultural extension service that provided farm families with information about growing and preserving food and also many aspect of home economics,  ie. mattress making.  4H was the kid's  program.
It was started in 1914 by the Smith Lever Act.  This club was probably sourced out of Cobleskill Agricultural And Technical Institute. (Where btw, Mary Ann and I got our Associates in Applied Science: Business degrees.)  With , Mom would have been a great resource for the organization as demonstrated by her the recent cucumber and corn harvesting.
