Saturday, 16 June 1962, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Warm, sunny, 75. Wayne, Carol, Sue, Gill and I went to Cobleskill for dresses and shoes for the girls. Went up to Mother's for dinner. Madalyn came home from the hospital. Marilyn, Jim, and family came home from their trip. Marilyn and I called on Madalyn.
Comment: Marilyn and Jim have been gone since Wednesday, originally headed for Carolyn's and Merel Jr's.....Don't know Gill.....view from the "Cross Road"...A comment from my brother LaVerne: From LaVerne: Gilbert Gale was a friend of Carol's. He was killed in an accident shortly after this. His mother Hilda was spending time with Uncle Earl, she was with him in the car when he died. She called me a 4;30 that morning with the news that Uncle Earl had died. They were around Gallupville in the car when he had the heart attack. Ran off the road, Hilda was not hurt. I THING THE LOSS OF GILBERT WAS HEAVY FOR CAROL.
