Wednesday, 22 June 1966, The Frances Hubbard Diaries
Lovely, clear , sunny day, 70's. I picked strawberries, the first, finished ironing. Wayne, Laura and the baby came about two and stayed for supper, they went to Earl's and got a pup.
Comment: The strawberries must have been wild in the lot just behind the house and very small and very sweet. Seems like all the strawberries now are as big as eggs and certainly do not have the taste of the wild ones....a new baby and a new pup, I guess they'll be occupied...probably some sort of hunting dog, a Beagle, perhaps. Uncle Earl always had several dogs hanging around, from large 'coon to small rabbit hounds.....must have been a hot day, me about 1941 or two.....I still vividly remember this....
