Friday, December 18, 1964 The Frances Hubbard Diaries
December 18, 1964 Friday, cold and snow and windy. Clifton, Madelyn and I went to Oneonta Christmas shopping. Met Mrs. Mayo and Marion at book store, home at 5:20 pm. David and Robert went to Kingston after Doug back at 8:30 pm. Frank Leroy was killed when he fell off tractor.
Comment: Frank was a neighbor whose farm and lights we could see from our front porch and was one of the 500 or so farmers per year who get killed using a tractor.....If I remember correctly the Leroys always used Case tractors......I think he fell off and was ran over by the tractor or the equipment it was pulling....
I remember Frank and Sid Leroy well. When I was a kid I used to accompany my brother and pick up their milk every morning. They both looked forward to visiting with Stan.
